Hello Sir i finished my graduation in 2006 and i decided that i want only IIMs and nothing else...so i didn't join any job.. i wrote CAT2007 and got 94 percentile..and this time my preparation is not upto the leve since i didn't do it systematically..my father has been running his own business for the past 2 years..now i want to take CAT 2009 in well manner..at the same time assisting my father...while i join the IIM there will be a break of 4 years after my graduation..will this affect my chances of getting into IIM...kindly give your suggestion..my academics are rather good--10-88.8%, 12-90.0%, B.Tech- 78.3%...eagerly looking forward 4 ur reply..Thanks..

Dear Sarwan, There are several ways you can handle this. You are fortunate enough to hava your father running his own business and you can always say that you were working with your father after graduation. As long as you are able to explain that break satisfyingly, you shouldn't be much bothered.
I suggest you concentrate on CAT and forget about all these things at this moment. The logic is simple: now is not the time to get bothered...worry about your break only after you secure interview calls from IIMs. Isn't it?
